June Mini-Sessions

The weather is warming up and nature is in renewal here in Michigan.  A wonderful season for updating your portraits.

MSP has designed sessions this time around ideal for updating any online profile.  Personal or business.

Also great for updating family portraits for holiday cards or seasonal announcements.

One week booking period applies to Mini-Sessions also they do not adhere to the regular sessions $300 MOR (minimum order requirement).

Note all sessions though not listed in individual lists include 5×7″ spiral bound, frosted cover print proof books.

Families* please wear colors that compliment each other.  All blue-jeans or khaki’s are a good start / base.  Men in slacks and women in sun dresses is another suggestion.  If you want contrasting colors make sure they are complementary to one another.  Consultation available without additional charge.

Instead of one day of limited slots we are now opening up the board to six day’s open for on-location shoot’s and one for studio shoots.

Booking your time slot / appointment:
Booking is due by 1/20/14, session payment in full due at time of booking.  Regular MSP policies apply for cancellations / missed appointments.   Payments can be made over the phone, online or in person.  Cash or credit / debit.  No personal checks.  In person payment is recommended so we can get a personal consultation in before the shoot.

Also:

It is best to be 10-20 minutes early to make sure that you and your party are collected and ready when your time slot begins.

Address and location details will be given during consultation / booking.

MSP Mini-Sessions have a minimum booking requirement.  If six sessions are not booked than all sessions are refunded and it’s a no-go.  So please share with your friends!

Mini-Sessions and Fine Art

I am thinking about bringing mini-sessions back.

It seems that the way I was doing them before had a few flaws and I am reviewing several different ways to go about them in the future.

Thinking of launching two types, standard portrait mini-sessions and clone mini-sessions.
The difference being the amount of photo’s produced for media between each sessions.  Clone shots will take more time and therefore there will be less as the time between sessions will have a common standard. 

In other news MSP has a new web store that requires no login!  This is a temporary store until I get my website back up which is a project still underway.

Valentines Special 2013

It’s that time of year again, Valentines Day is right around the corner.  This year MSP is offering standard portrait mini-sessions, Standard portrait covers classic and creative portraits.

You may choose the location within 50 miles of my office in Byron for your mini-session any time between February 2nd-14th.  Additional travel fee’s will apply if your location is outside the designated area.

Shoot time is unlimited, though in general, mini-sessions are short in duration and often do no consume too much time.

Your images will be viewable within 14 days of the mini-session, depending on your creative editing requests and volume of response to this offer.  A private digital gallery will be created and emailed to you with password and your print proof book order will be placed.  Once the proof book reaches my office it’s packaged boutique style and shipped to you.

Use your digital image gallery and print proof gallery to help guide you in your print product purchase choices. Of course, I will always be available for selection assistance if requested.

MSP has a $300 minimum order requirement, which includes the session and prints. The mini-session allows you to purchase more prints while saving money on the session at the same time.

Your print order is required within two weeks of receiving your print proof book to qualify for print packages (savings).  Orders placed after the two week time frame are restricted to á la cart menu.

Bookings must be made no later than Feb 2st.

Latest available session date for mini-session price is Feb 15th.

A non-refundable booking fee of $45 is due at time of booking.  Your booking fee will be applied to you balance of $45 due at the time of the session.

Maximum people per session is two.

High-res / full size digital copy CD’s available for $210, which includes:

All five high resolution images, full size as well as common print ratio’s versions, for each digital copy, labeled for easy crop-free printing.

Images used for for social media purposes must contain a provided copy with MSP copyright information.

Images are supplied on a custom printed CD with a custom printed CD case.  Shipped to your home in boutique style and shipped to you.

Side note* It has been reported to me that google drive wont let you scan the file previous downloading.  Please note I scanned the file previous upload and it is clean, also for any additional peace of mind you can scan the file with your own virus protection before opening it, which is when the damage would take effect were a file infected.

Terms & Conditions:

You may only participate in one discount program at a time.  If you have booked a session previously under the FB Fans Save savings program you can not book another session under the Black Friday Specials savings program.  You can not apply both savings programs to one session.

You can not apply year round FB fans saving incentives to any session booked under a discount program (Black Friday Specials, FB Fans Save, etc). You can not apply any variation of multiple discount programs to one session.

Booking fee still due at time of booking even if your session date is three month’s down the road.  If for any reason other than unavoidable act’s of God, you need to cancel (instead of reschedule) your booking fee is non-refundable.

Online Marketplaces.

One downside to going with template website hosting  companies is sometimes the marketplace in their templates are less than pleasing, and you pay more for the package that allows you to build that marketplace.

I fell into that pit.  I’m not ashamed to admit this mistake.  After I sold my first print in that market I found a few hidden fee’s.  Leaving me with little profit on my sale, despite my “high” prices for that market.

After some research I found a few better marketplaces that I could host outside my web site that took less from my profits.  One was specialized just for photographers, and though it looked promising it only paid out twice a month.  A discomforting fact for me, I enjoy getting the money as the purchases are made, rather than waiting for one of two days to collect in the month.  It makes covering upcoming costs far easier.

The solution came to me by chance.  I was browsing my facebook newsfeed when Blissful Beads – Handmade Jewelry posted a link to her new online store.  I took a look around and talked to her about their services.  I found myself completely pleased with the lack of fee’s, no hidden fee’s easy to use tools for me and easy design / interface for the shopper.

This new marketplace allows me to lower my prices by more than half!  A color 12″x12″ print from my old market would have cost the shopper $51, but in the new market you can pick up a 12″x12″ print (color) for $23 ($35 after shipping), a savings of $28.00.

I’m pretty pleased with the Copious marketplace and its familiar play off yardsellr, a marketplace I used to sell personal items from my home a year back to cover medical bills, a useful tool.

The marketplace I found specific for photographers had a great pricing tool that took a few moments to set up but would save you a lot of time in the future.  Visit Instaproofs and see if it’s for you.  It has a lot of great features for a photographers market if the payment plan doesn’t deter you.
